If you have a voucher or gift certificate the rescheduling and cancellation fees still apply. Excessive changes or no shows will result in no future services. Beauty by Joni does not offer any refunds for services once the service is rendered.

How long should my hair be for any body waxing services?

3-4 weeks of growth is recommended for optimal results. On average this is 1/4 inch of growth. You can get a bikini or brazilian wax with only 2 weeks growth, but you will likely see new hair regrowth sooner then when you wait for 3-4 weeks before waxing.

Does waxing hurt?

Since the hair is removed from the root there is some discomfort, but everyone says that it wasn’t as painful as they expected after their first wax with Joni. It is quite tolerable and well worth it for most people. A monthly waxing schedule also helps reduce any pain.

What is a Brazilian bikini wax?

Joni is a waxing specialist and this is her most popular service. Your Brazilian bikini wax service rids you of all the hair in your entire pubic region and the strip of hair in back between your cheeks. Some women prefer to leave a decorative patch of hair in the front top area. It’s a personal preference that is equally popular and up to you. The Brazilian bikini wax provides a clean, smooth wax and the freedom to wear the most revealing swimwear.

How do I prevent ingrown hairs?

Some skin types and hair textures are simply prone to ingrown hairs. Waxing will often reduce the number of ingrown hairs. Gently exfoliate the night before your waxing appointment to help minimize ingrown hairs. Excellent products are available to help prevent and reduce ingrown hairs. Just ask and Joni will recommend one for you.

Are there any reasons why I shouldn’t wax?

Waxing must be avoided if you are using any medications that contribute to skin sensitivity, especially, Retin-A, Renova, Tretinoin, Tazorac, Differin, Duac and Accutane. Sunburned or recently peeling skin cannot be waxed either. Having your period does not prevent you from waxing, but you may be more sensitive around this time.

Is there anything I should do after my wax?

Recently waxed skin is more susceptible to sunburn and hyperpigmentation (brown spots) so please apply a quality SPF and avoid exposing the waxed areas to direct sun and tanning beds. For 24-48 hours after your wax you should wear loose clothing and avoid hot baths/showers, hot tubs, saunas and activities like sports/workouts that cause heat and friction to the area.
